Description

On the dogwalk by the river today some fishermen had called the police. Someone was using a shotgun to shoot pigeons on the opposite side, but his kills were falling in the river. This posed a risk to everyone walking on the path, and an otherwise legal activity had become an offence. Also, the fishing lads and I felt it was a terrible waste: if you kill birds you should eat them. Anyway it was a great random man photo opp! What a looker! See the mono version Here In reply to the permission query, yes he did!

He gave his permission so he is not so random at all. I think most of the police man/woman don't want that.. at least not in the Netherlands :)

You get away with this cos you are a lady. See what happens if I try to do it!!! And walking around shooting pigeons with a shotgun is legal?

Getting a copper to smile is a task in itself. Excellent as ever, your randomness always pays off I see.

One of Bournemouth's best. I see he is wearing his vest. Good man. We lose quite a few police here because they can't be bothered. This is a great portrait and what a fantastic set of pearly whites. Helps to put that whole slander about British dentition to rest.

What's this? How did you get an officer of the law to smile? You must have an mesmerizing effect on men, no matter their position in society. And, a fine shot of the British gendarme, sans headgear. Hope he put the shotgun-toting blighter away for a lengthy stretch.

That's a great candid Andrea, and he is a very pleasant-looking fellow, and the closeness of the shot totally makes it happen! You should try to find him and give him a copy as I'm sure his relatives would be most pleased to see it. I prefer the color version.

This photograph could be called "Arrested Development".lol I love the character shots. Most coppers are human too and just doing a tough job for little more than being hated.

a wonderful capture of a beaming face, with lots of red life and coloration, nice shading, freckles, and just really good vibes. Perfectly cropped, including what I assume is a badge or insignia of some kind. And I see some of your postwork back there, in the background---works perfectly with the shot! A good-looker indeed, and captured with unintrusive care. You do these beautifully, Andrea.
