These are brilliant, I had seen them, but was green to what they were. Thanks for the heads up my friend. I used to think they were part of the plant like a form of fasciation Now I know what to call them.

A wonderful example and capture! They are weird looking things, but the lay eggs without mating is even weirder. It could even be called a minor "miracle".
