Description
Its finally quiet. She can kick the heels off her aching feet & rid her nostrils of the stench of smoke & booze. Good! No bruises tonight. A small consolation. It worries her that soon age will forbid her. But she looks forward to that day with longing, nonetheless.
How much better is home. An empty apartment over a noisy liquor store. Dirty & infested, but affordable.
Lonely. The cat cries for dinner then turns and walks out. Like all the other ingrates. Another familiar pang.
Some day. Someday. Someday her prince will come.
