Description

Off to his right he notices a guard droid; they use them for surveillance both in the air and on the ground. Ell doesn’t give it much thought as, even though he is in restricted air space, he has the highest of clearances. His ear piece in his helmet begins to buzz, warning him of an incoming message. “Identify yourself, you have entered a restricted airspace.” the metallic drone voice blasts into his ear. “This is Dr. Ell.” “Voice identification and visual identification do not match to my records.” “Listen you idiot tin can, I have a helmet on you must move closer to do a retinal scan.” “Guard droids are not allowed to move closer than 100 meters. Leave this sector immediately or be eliminated with extreme prejudice.” “Listen you freakin’ machine, my ID number is 08642. Furthermore being eliminated IS extreme prejudice. What monkey faced moron programmed you?” “We do not accept ID numbers as they can be compromised. Move now or be eliminated.” “Where would you like me to go we are in the middle of the Rockies?” “Move now or be eliminated.” They wonder why I work on A. I... This droid is a prime example. It can’t think, it can only react to stimuli in a precise manner. There can be no deviation from its programmed responses. Dr. Ell thinks as he banks away from the droid. Good thing he didn't let his pride get in the way of survival... that droid sounded like it meant business. Excellent image, great story... keep it coming.
