Description
Taken yesterday in Derbyshire's Peak district. The gritstone rock was used to make millstones for centuries. "Like a millstone around your neck" has real meaning when you see the size and weight of them!
I do like portrait format landscape shots, this subject suited perfectly.
Curbar and Froggatt edges are popular rock climbing areas in the Derwent valley area.

How breathtaking this view is! And I wonder if that's where the shot in "Pride and Prejudice" where Keira Knightly is standing with her gown blowing around her...looks much the same spot. I need to visit this area someday!

Gavin Hoey has a 15 minute challenge around this area shooting the millstones, try a google. Well you'd be better off with www.ixquick.com Nice shot Kev, I too like the higher format for landscapes, when i do them of course :)

It's an area of outstanding beauty Kevin, your photograph does it justice. I can smell the heather on the clean fresh air. Imagine rolling that down the hillside! Imagine it again - rolling towards you down the hillside!
