Description

Well I thought the tour of the Papal Palace was down to its last image but sorting through my original shots I found two more that I think are worth posting and so I worked them up in raw. This is the final countdown.... 3...2...1 before I am on to something completely different. Thanks for sticking out this series to date! Those steps in my last image were actually leading down to a side entrance to the Papal Chapel, so once more we have landed there. You can see the steps at the far left of this image. I was ahead of Anne, heading for the exit, and as I turned around to see where she was I saw that she had become entranced by the sunlight streaming into the windows. I quickly dropped to the floor, and took several shots of her from a very low low angle. The beautiful tile allignment gave me some wonderful leading lines and shooting into the light gave it a radiant feeling. A truly beautiful shot. The grand scale of this place is really overwhelming. I could only imagine it filled, at one time, with tapestries, statues and who knows what. You can almost see the ghosts. And. Whoaaa! New look for the site and a giant comment box! I guess they do listen.

Good that you have as a human size comparison. Together with the low angle I see how big and powerful they are gemäuer. The architecture is gorgeous with its high-vaulted. An excellent capture! I also love the machining very monochrome.
