I would love to visit the UK and especially Scotland. I was hoping to visit before my friend passed away. I took him around here and he was going to be my guide there. his sons lives in London and his widow still lives in their home

Now that April 's there. A little late in the year but still a great line by Burns. Here in the Colonies we have a fetish for everything new so we tend to tear down beautiful buildings like this. Wonderful image. We also lack a certain patience. I remember a story I read years ago about an American tourist who was visiting Oxford. He came upon a groundskeeper tending the lawn and inquired as to how he got it to look so lush and beautiful. The groundskeeper replied, "Well, its simple really. You fertilize it and water it and mow it. And you do that for about 1,000 years."

Looks like one of the last of the old manor houses like Downton Abbey. Would love to know the history of this one.
