Hello Redosians !
I was in Weimar (Germany) lately and I've seen some beautiful things.
I knew that Goethe and Schiller lived in this town and were close friends. I've learned that Goethe wrote a poem about the Ginkgo bilboa tree to a former lover.
It inspired me this image I've created from a picture of mine.

Here is the poem in german language:
Dieses Baums Blatt, der von Osten
Meinem Garten anvertraut,
Giebt geheimen Sinn zu kosten
Wie's den Wissenden erbaut.
Ist es ein lebendig Wesen,
Das sich in sich selbst getrennt,
Sind es zwei, die sich erlesen,
Daß man sie als eines kennt.
Solche Fragen zu erwiedern
Fand ich wohl den rechten Sinn,
Fühlst du nicht an meinen Liedern
Daß ich eins und doppelt bin.

The poem in french language :
La feuille de cet arbre, que l'Orient
A confié à mon jardin,
Donne son sens secret à savourer
A celui qui l'élabore.
Est-ce une créature animée,
Qui s'est scindée elle-même,
Ou bien deux s'étant réunies,
Pour ne former qu'un.
Songeant à ces questions
J'ai trouvé la juste réponse,
Ne sens-tu pas en écoutant mon chant
Que je suis un et deux à la fois.

And now in english language :
This tree's leaf, which here the East
In my garden propagates,
On its secret sense we feast
Such as sages elevates.
Is it but one being single
Which as same itself divides?
Are there two which choose to mingle
So that one each other hides?
As the answer to such question
I have found a sense that's true:
Is it not my songs' suggestion
That I'm one and also two?

Bon, je prends 5mn pour les ami(e)s...surtout quand, comme toi, ils (elles) mettent en ligne une bien belle photo qui, par-dessus le marché, nous cultive ! Moi qui prends tous les jours des gélules de ginkgo, je vais penser à Goethe ! En passant, tout comme Karma, je déteste cette nouvelle présentation !
