Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

How cool! I checked out the link, and then looked up the Wiki on Boy Scouts of America. Fascinating!

Great shots and a must zoom. If you get a chance have a peep at Julz1972's post today - something that will interest you!!

Adorable interaction! You can almost hear the little one asking questions, etc.!

Made me chuckle!!

Such stoic resolve. But then, what else would you expect from the world's first boy scout. A wonderful series of images.

Very interesting shots! :)

This is so cute!

Nice to see they are allowed to climb on him.

Urchins will be urchins, but I'm surprised that such an activity is tolerated in the UK, with its reputation of high protocol and propriety. The grand Boy Scout innovator must be spinning in his grave.

Lord Baden-Powell seems singularly unimpressed...it's fun to see kids interacting with public statuary. Great series of captures!

love these shots!! (only statue I recall in Poole was in the middle of some shopping mall but perhaps this wasn't there yet... in the 80s ;-))

HA! These are wonderful shots, Andrea. I bet the boy had a cosy time with the statue :)

Excellent, we had one of Doctor Salter in the river walk grounds of Rotherhithe by the Thames, but it sadly went the way of the thief. We are also losing war memorial plaques here too. Disgusting filthy people with little or no respect for themselves let alone our men and woman that died for them. scummy low lives! Wonderful image!

I can't explain about boys and things that need to be climbed. I was a climber and so were my sons. A lovely montage and actually, I like all four photos!
