Thought some of you might enjoy this.
Of course, most of us are familiar with the "street view" of Google Maps...I use them all the time...it is just that I thought the car used to carry the special camera was, how should I say it? A bit more umphy...the camera is almost as large as the car! which by the way traveled cross country--California to Forest Hills, NY...must have been some trip with that thing perched on the roof...
Thanks for the view...have a lovely rest of day...

too spookie Barb, and I know that neighborhood

remember the first microwave ovens or first vcr.. everything starts big and gets whittled down as technology allows... I don't like the idea of this thing. I sure wouldn't want to ride in a car that drives itself. I don't even like riding in roller coasters because I have no control of the thing. Great capture, thanks for sharing this Barb!

I have seen such a car here in my hometown. It also maked my smile when I saw that big camera on the roof of the car :))

I saw them the other day... tree was in the way of my shot... Cool Job. :)

when they came through my neighborhood, I was driving so I was unable to do the same as you. the maps are nice to use, but it is an invasion of privacy when they come down the alleys looking into your back yard. if I had the money I would put up an eight feet tall fence

Barb, this is so cool and I'm glad you shared it with us. I had no idea the camera was so large.

I saw one in Overland Park a few months ago - I thought it was going to tip over when it went around the corner with that 360-degree camera on top of it! Very cool shot!

wow, cool shot. that camera is huge. LOL!
whaleman
Perhaps that is why it is so high, to look overtop of fences and hedges!

I've never seen one in person ... this is great! Thanks! :) I use Google street view all the time when we travel. It allows us to "pre-drive" a route so we know what to expect. Driving a big motorhome and towing a car makes street view an invaluable tool! I feel like you've shown me a picture of a great friend I'd never met before. :)

Barb it is fun to see that miraculous little car. Oh is it a busy thing. I want the one that needs no Driver. What a kick in the head that one is. Thanks for showing us this. It's a great capture indeed.
