Description

I seem to remember Andrea posting a poppy head close up. So I called this the imposter because of that. This is what was left after a gust of wind removed the last two petals. The collar of stamens got broken with the falling petals too! Taken with the old Tamron 90 mm f2.8 macro lens, so about 142mm effectively on a C sensor Dslr. It was stopped down to f 18 for the shot though for greater DOF.

I really wondered what I was going to see...it looks like chenille - or an exotic plant doesn't it? You would never dream it was a poppy. Just look at those white spines! Another thought - Love Lies Bleeding! (Amaranthus caudatus)
