Das Hauptgebäude des Werkes in Berlin-Weißensee wurde 1912-1913 für die Kugellagerfabrik Riebe GmbH errichtet. 1920 wurde die Produktion eingestellt.
Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs erhielt Raspe und Riebe Rüstungsaufträge. Unter anderem wurden kugelsichere Benzintanks für Panzer und Flugzeuge, Bauteile und Steuergeräte für V-Waffen und Funkerzeugnisse für die Flugzeugindustrie hergestellt.
Nach Kriegsende wurde das Werk verstaatlicht und fortan wurden hier Radios und später Fernseher hergestellt. Nach dem Mauerfall wurde 1990 das Werk geschlossen und 3300 arbeiter verlieren ihren Job. Seitdem steht es leer und verfällt. Ins Innere kommt man nicht mehr. Es ist einsturzgefährdet.
Ich selber habe hier 3 Jahre in der Galvanik gearbeitet. Dieses Haus gehört also zu meinem Lebenslauf.

The main building of the plant in Berlin-Weissensee was built in 1912-1913 for the ball bearing factory Riebe GmbH. In 1920 the production was stopped.
During the Second World War and Raspe Riebe received defense contracts. Among other things, bulletproof fuel tanks for tanks and aircraft, components and controls for V-weapons and radio products were produced for the aviation industry.
After the war the factory was nationalized and then on radio and later television here were made. After the fall of the wall, the factory was closed in 1990 and 3,300 employees will lose their job. Since then it is crumbling and deserted. The interior is no longer one. It is in danger of collapsing.
I myself have worked here 3 years in electroplating. So this house belongs to my CV.

Das Gebäude, wie viele Andere auch, steht leider nicht auf den Erhaltenswerten. Sehr schade!!!

A dramatic image. It is a tragedy that so many classic buildings are being allowed to die. Soon Berlin will be like Los Angeles, a city with no past. Ein dramatisches Bild. Es ist eine Tragödie, dass so viele klassische Gebäude ist erlaubt, um zu sterben. Bald Berlin wird wie Los Angeles, eine Stadt ohne Vergangenheit.

Cool old building! You would think a historical society would take on it's preservation, but then again you never know when some government crazy will start another war so maybe it will just get bombed or an airplane will fly into it and finish the job time is doing!

Immer weiter voran. Vielen gelingt es nicht nach rechts, links oder hinten zu sehen, einigen wenigen schon, zu denen du wohl zählst. Manchmal ist es komisch, man sieht solche verfallenen Gebäude, die zur eigenen Geschichte gehören und im Herzen ist man eigentlich immer noch 16 Jahre jung und fragt sich wie das alles zusammen passt. Man ist gezwungen zu reflektieren. Tolle Aufnahme!

Juli, ist dies eine erstaunliche Foto. Ich bin traurig, wie diese alten stuctures verblassen. Ich bin eher traurig, so viele Menschen sind ohne Arbeit.

A historic building like that would be listed in OZ, under 'National Heritage' - it would be a great pity, to see it go: 'To Wreck and Ruin' ... I have never seen this one before and thanks for sharing Julchen, BB
