Description

On one leaf. My front garden is either fast becoming an 'inviolate woodland', as the forestry commission names protected broadleaf areas, or is rather neglected, according to how the viewer feels about tidiness. So there are rather too many native saplings which need removing before they become much bigger. There are oak, beech, willow, birch and lime and probably others I haven't noticed yet. Each have their attendant insects and galls, and these are on a small oak next to the path. The Silk Button Spangles can be seen alone Here and the Common Spangle galls Here

Oh, so happy to see that you finally used your Tizzy18 on some subject matter, A. Spectacular array of colorful patterns and textures in this marvo macro. Kind of reminds me of pomegranate seeds.

The silk spangles look a bit like blood cells. You should have swarms of them unless the birds get to them.

Beautiful. Really beautiful... I'm not sure the leaf, or the plant, is very happy to give hospitaity of such a number of guests... but the effect is beautiful :-)
