Description
The labyrinth at Villandry. It's made up of hornbeam hedges (known as charmilles in French). Though many people use the terms labyrinth & maze interchangeably, there is a difference. A labyrinth has only one path which leads to the center, while a maze has many branches, dead ends & choices to make. Mazes are puzzles to solve, while labyrinths can be either decorative or walked as a form of meditation.

There are labyrinths in this area that are specifically for meditation. I'd love to walk one. Movement is so "un-sticking" for me.
