HaHa.....some would no doubt disagree. Grindleford - there is a small place in Shropshire named Rindleford - on the river Worfe. I wonder if anyone knows the the origin of the lovely word rindle. What a truly spectacular setting. Yes I agree about the eerie feel of the first pic. I remember the fine film Colditz too. Thankyou for posting:-)

Indeed yes! Although mills were pretty horrid places to work and very like prisons in a way. Most of my grandmother's sisters-in-law lost fingers working in them.

For intensified bleakness the top one wins for me; both have an abundance of beautiful foliage that seems to be trying to reclaim the building. Maybe that's a good thing? Excellent shots and comparison, Kev.
