Description

Done using reality render, DAZ studio and DAZ products. Soldier's textures for Uzilite ranger outfit were actually created by me and sold to DAZ a few years back. Still like the look.

Great render--the hyper realism of this scene is simply astonishing. How'd you do it? My eyes are drawn from the shadows of the archway, the shadows along the step and the shadow of the soldier's helmet, then I see his boots actually 'resting' in the sand, instead of floating on top of it. The battlefield smoke in the background, the haze in the foreground--this is damn near a perfect composition IMHO. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the great comment. I used a combination of lights from Lantios (Ibelieve that's how its spelled) Stonemasons desert outpost, M3, Uzilite ranger outfit, my UCMSFD texture for the outfit and one of my Combat Specialist poses, all available at DAZ3D. I Used DAZ Studio 3 and Reality Render, set all effects to MATT for models. Really, the reality render program from Preta3D is a really great asset, it gives me that hyper real look I want with a little tweaking and a long render wait period. I then took it into an image editor and filled in the smoke, cracks and bullet holes with brushes from Rons collection also at DAZ. I always take into consideration the land, if its soft, place the character a little into the terrain, if hard, on top, but keep in mind how the soul of the boot would look on a hard surface with give for rubber bottoms and leather tops. Whatever looks ugly, clone brush it pretty in your image editor and tweak the color and brightness to sharpen the shadows. All in all, with render time included, the image took about 14 hours to create. Hope this helps, and thanks again. D.W. Mitchell.
