Description
I snapped this image back in May when I visited Cape Town. The Radisson where we stayed is right on the sea and one evening the moon was shining beautifully and the city lights were coloring the clouds in this orange hue that I had to take a picture. The problem was that I did not have a tripod and handheld did not work at all. I ended up putting my camera on the balcony railing (I know, I know... that was dumb) and shot off quite a few shots - most of them with rather pleasing results.

Fantastic result. Terrific waterfront. Nothing wrong with a balcony railing. Just make sure you keep a tight grip on your camera.

I've used the balcony railing technique too! You can still hand on to the strap without transferring any vibrations!

Beautiful warm glow, and I love the effect of the long shutter speed on the water, great shot!! Using the railing is fine, as long as you are also using a strap on the camera too! :)
