Description

This public facility, located across from Gate 1 of the Grand Bazaar, allows people to freshen up. As a matter of fact it is part of the Nuruosmaniye Camii (mosque), since this mosque has no ablution fountain. The mosque was built between 1748-1755 in Ottoman Baroque style, It was begun under the reign of Sultan Mahmut I and completed under his brother and successor Sultan Osman III.. There are times when I'd love to rinse my feet off even if I had no intention of going into a mosque! Walking around can be such a hot and tired thing to do. This looks quite refreshing!
