Description

lot of free food. There was a boudin war there also. It a type of sausage here. just google it. anyway people here eat it anytime of the day and a lot of stores and gas stations have it. Best Stop in Scott, Louisiana have some of the best. But here in Lake charles there is no good boudin. I bought a ticket for $5 and another one for a friend of mine. My friend could not go so I give it away to some one I did not know. anyway They give you a small piece to try it out. and they have about 10 or so differ stores that have they boudin there for the contest war. I spit a lot of them out of my mouth as they did not taste good to me. Only one was halve way good and i voted for that store. I did not even take any photos of the boudin war. as I forgot about it. I was trying to find a place to throw halve of the boudin away I had spit out. This is the boudin . these people like it as they never ate good boudin which is just an hour away to the east of them in Scott. they voted by the color of tooth pick and it was just one black on it so only one vote

A very casual candid Jock and that 'boudin' doesn't sound too good to me!

Sausage is a dangerous thing to eat, you never know what might be in it!

Nice candid Jock, sounds like you should write a book on the best places to eat. I had local farm made sausages with herbs and chips and onion gravy in a pub at Hedons mouth, the hike to the beach was needed to walk it off.

Jock, that sounds like one fabulous car show. Most of them I've gone to rarely offer food, let alone free food.

I think I recognize it from the sausages we here call Medisterpølse (with-lard-sausages) It tells alot about that sausage, doesnt it? But now a days you can get some with not much lard in them. Not my fav food :)

I remember you talking about 'boudin' before and I had to research it before I commented. it's a shame that it appears they messed up a pretty basic recipe (at least that's how I read the ingredients. Sorry to hear you didn't get a chance to eat the good stuff

I like boudin. Are you talking about Don's Specialty Meat? I've stopped there a number of times on the way back from Baton Rouge. I told a guy at work that I would bring him some boudin the next time I get a chance. The boudin I've had is more like dirty rice in a sausage skin then like heavy sausages. It's good on crackers. Great picture! I love trying out different foods. It sounds like a fun day, even if the boudin wasn't that great.

Free food at a car show? I've been to a lot of auto shows and never once did they offer free food. And I never heard of boudin. Anyway, cool POV in this one, Jock.
