My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Weathered is better in my eyes; it's much more real that way, I think. Beautiful capture!

I have said it a thousand times... opportunities like this pass many folks holding cameras by. Not an artist. Great image. :-)

I really like this shot alot. The warm colors, the window and the cracked concrete. But that modern water pipe doesnt fit in here :) Take it off ;-D

I wonder if we shall eventually see an 'after' photo?! It is beautiful like it is, though !

I'd love to do a "tour" of the lighthouses of the West Coast. I hit a couple on my drive home from Seattle (Which you will see later in my gallery). I like the perspective and composition you achieved.... No demerits for me please :)

A wonderful capture. It does need some restoration to keep it from eventually falling over.
Wolfenshire
I don't want to know where it is, they might ask me to come help paint it. Can you just imagine how much work it will take to restore it. Living in a lighthouse would not be cool. I lived next to a working lighthouse. The lighthouse keeper could only leave the lighthouse when the tide was low and the ocean wasn't being all like, "rawr, I'm gonna get you."

So, where is it??? LOL! That looks like it's going to be one heck of a restoration job - makes me tired just thinking about it! Still..... I've always thought it would be extremely cool to buy one of these, restore it, and live there. Just imagine the view - and the exercise you'd get. A great, detailed shot, Tara!

An excellent picture.

Unbelievable what a winner photo, dear friend! I admire the warm colors again, all the textures and the mood. All is just perfect to make this a first class photo, Tara!

A fresh coat of paint & your fine photo would have been ruined. In a mass-produced world, the aesthetics of age & decay can be very appealing...

I'm sure glad you got this shot before they patched it all up..It has an old world charm to it..
