Description

El Pulpo Mechanico (the Mechanical Octopus) paid a visit to the Burning Man festival! It never ceases to amaze to see such intricate (and unusual) Argentine gem, which pays tribute Steampunk - especially ones with shooting giant flames and tentacles.

Duane Flatmo, who created this great piece, lives here in Humnboldt County. I've been lucky enough to see him and his works; he spent several months with some high school kids painting a mural on an alley parking lot in Eureka and I watched most of it it out of my office window!!. Lots of his stuff is hidden that way and finding it's a great prize. This El Pulpo Mecanico is one of my favorites; he's displayed it a few time up here. Nice shot of the piece...way cool that he brought to Black Rock again!!
