Description

I embellish when I say I was "hanging" from our rooms balcony to get these shots. I was not unsafe, I simply leaned over the balcony, with my camera secure around my neck, and my feet on the floor (mostly). Be aware of where you are when shooting, no accidents ;) I hope you enjoyed the different views of the Seattle skyline. This photo concludes the Skyline series. . I did some post work to try to give this a more "arty" feel. What do you think? Have a great week :) Hugs, ~Melinda~

I like it Melinda. Not only the Dutch tilt or Dutch angle as it is known, but I like the post production too. It has given the photo a painterly feel. This was a great series my friend.

Thank you. There is my lesson for the day, I didn't know that there was a name to the tilt. :)

Not a fan of tilts. But that is me. Still, a fine shot. :-)

For me, I find that images out of level are bothersome.

Tilt, not tilt, I don't have much of an opinion about it. Don't love it, don't hate it. What I DO love about this is that you can clearly see that black building with the angled roof, which is locally known as "the Darth Vader building." :)

Superb shot of the skyline. I actually always try to keep my camera horizontally, but here the oblique angle looks good.

I'm not a fan of tilted horizons, just because on a landscape like this they are soooo distracting to the viewer. I use a little $3 spirit level which attaches to the SLR and allows the shooter to see if the camera is level from above. It works a treat. THIS IS THE ONE I USE!

Nice capture, but I feel a bout of seasickness coming on, Melinda. Or maybe I should get new glasses.

Ha, the wonky horizon is totally forgiven with the charming tale that explains it.
