Description
Hi folks:
No doubt you have noticed that I am passionate about airplanes "rare".
And you will ask: What does Pedro modeling a Spitfire? Is it possible rare spitfire?
But is there something like a spitfire "normal"?
From 1936 until the 50's the spit has flown various types of wings (classified according to the armament installed) with the classic elliptical wing, enlarged or cropped.
Has been driven by multiple variants, merlin and griffon engine, of rolls royce, sometimes optimized for low or high altitude. With different air intakes, tropical filters, radiators etc..
Powered by propellers 2, 3, 4 and 5 blades.
With increasingly longer fuselage to accommodate larger engines.
It seems that most of free 3D models available are for versions combatants in the Battle of Britain, or from last Griffon engine powered versions.
So I decided to model the Spitfire MkXVIe "Clipped wing" the latest version with Merlin engine (built by Packard under license), with clipped wings and bubble canopy, optimized for low altitude. A nice version, with refined lines that spit more "normal". (It's a matter of taste)
Greetings.
Pedro
