Description
First attempt to model sea water, somewhat improved version.
Water surface mesh created in Rhino, rendered in LuxRender through Pret-a-3D Reality in DAZ Studio.
The objects (boat, platform) are merely there to give it some sense of scale.

Looks darn good, altho there is a hint of that "plastic wrap" look that one gets in photoshop with the plastic wrap filter..

Thanks! 'plastic wrap filter' ??? oh dear, can't remember ever seeing (and most certainly, using) that one : ) The fine ripples across the waves make this render reeeeaaaallllyyyy sssslllllooowww; after about fourteen hours I made this 'print', and the water surface still was noisy like hell. So I applied some 'Noise Ninja filter' on the large version (twice this size) before downscaling it. Perhaps this is where that silky look comes from. I'll let LuxRender cook it some more overnight, perhaps it will look better then. We'll see.
