Description

Opéra de Monteverdi: Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda. Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda Text in french and english: Les croisés choisissent Tancrède comme héros. Le soleil vient de se lever. Chaque chevalier revêt son armure dans son camp, et se dirige vers la lice. C'est un chevalier à l'armure noire qui se présente pour affronter Tancrède, et représenter son peuple. The Crusaders choose Tancred as hero. The sun has just risen. Each knight put his armor in his camp, and is heading for the arena. This is a fantastic scene!!! Wonderful work! Although my thoughts have nothing to do with your interpretation of this opera it reminds me of the visions I created in my mind of Jeanne d'Arc preparing for battle! Superb!

Oh non, que le diable me patafiole ! J'ai soudain un affreux pressentiment : ce n'est pas un proche de Clorinda que Tancrède va devoir affronter, mais Clorinda elle-même ! Par tous les dieux, faites que j'aie tord, faites que j'aie tord, FAITES QUE J'AIE TORD !!! Calme-toi, ma grande, les femmes de cette époque n'étaient pas des combattantes. Elles ne savaient pas manier l'épée et n'auraient pas supporté le poids d'une armure de guerre.. Ah bon, tu crois? Nous serons fixés au prochain épisode. J'ai hâte de voir ça!
