Description

The Swiss have an answer to Disney "Planes..." ??? Tryphon kindly gave me the chance to throw some seaspray onto his Royal Navy gear... To help make work for idle hands I thought a photo shoot for the folks back home might do the trick. In time-honoured Navy-tradition I lifted the Oerlikon 20 mm cannon from a PT Boat resting in Runtime harbour (BeyondVR's) and used the Shade metalshop to put together a new mount for it so that Captain John F. Kennedy would be none the wiser if he stopped by for a beer. Now, Men with a 20-mm pea-shooter riding shotgun on an 8-inch turret must have drawn many ribald comments from the clowns below-decks. "You call THAT a cannon...?" Though I suspect that jokes would be lost upon the AA crewmen. They would probably just grin, cup their ear and feign occupational deafness from weathering too many shore bombardments "Huh...?" ;-) Visible in the background is my County-class heavy cruiser HMAS Canberra and two US Navy Simms-class destroyers (the USS Simms is a work in progress for future Battle of the Coral Sea renders). Thanks for viewing and comments.

This is really nice, Brian. I like the "up close and personal" points of view that you do. One thing...I really think you should send Seaman First Class Domus down to the medic and have the sawbones look at his left elbow. Might be a wee problem there that you don't want to flare up when there's incomings. Very nice work once again!

Hello Brian! Well done, Domus looks ready for the "all hands to battle station" command. It looks great, the gun crew & gun juxtaposed with the three ships give an idea of vastness. Superb, & thanks for the mention.
