Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Very good photos! I like both versions love the description of the feelings that the perfume evokes (I like Stevie Nicks)

Death to all those who get near you then Andrea!! Super shot.

Well, I can say it is a gorgeous photo, but I hate the smell too. :) Once I met an old school friend and she oozed of this poison. I couldnt breath although I was standing on the windy pier in the harbour village LOL! Why on earth put so much smell on, when you want to have a nice walk on the harbour where the wonderful scent of sea, fish and life is so much better? Beyond me :)

It's a great shot but I too cannot abide strong perfume smells maybe I just have an ultra sensitive smell :)

Excellent shot! :)

I couldn't stand this stuff. I thought it smelled too strong, it used to grab my throat. I forbade the ex wife from wearing it. To make things better I bought her a big bottle of Worth. Now that was a very nice perfume indeed.

Classy and stylish shot! I have been brought to my knees more than once by perfumes, gasping for air and my inhaler. So I understand some of your comments.

I like this version best. The postwork brings out the bottles, which have a lovely sheen. Beautiful!

Smashing capture of the gothic bottles of poison, contrasted against that digifiddled background, Andrea. And just let me at that voluptuous cleavage. It just might help in reigniting some old passion in this ancient body.

Well done!

I simply cannot wrap my head around such a nauseating description of a smell as you quoted from your smelling counterpart! I much prefer "it is a bit like Marmite" as it tells me something.

Too bad about your lodger but better to find out the lady's personality before marriage. A beautiful image though.

Have never experienced it myself - no doubt I will - sooner or later ... ;) but in the mean time I do like John Oakes comment: "It just adores being dressed to kill. Sinister on the elderly, laughable on the young, it is stricly the domain of the selfassured, sophisticated mature woman with more than her fair share of brains and beauty. All seasons are fine with it, particularly winter nights, when it glows like an exotic jewel." sounds intriguing, BB

I like this set up and photo best. Lovely postwork on the background!

Great still-life shot, I love the work you do with these scent bottles, I think it's easy for people to forget that the smell of scents for some people are as exciting as fine wines to others and the bottles can be just as important as the scent inside them. My late mother loved scents but did not like them to be too sickly smelling... liked Estee Lauder Youth Dew, I always remember the smell as a kid.
