Hello!! from Jean. I live in UK north of Manchester and close to the Ribble Valley. I have two sons who live in the south of England , and Geneva. I have been interested in photography for years..in the sense of capturing people and scenes, but with a digital camera have become an addict. Photography enables unique moments to be captured and one learns to use one's eyes more searchingly. As I have absolutely no talent in conventional art it is a challenge to try to produce results with all the help available with software. As a overview of my gallery will show, I am a novice! I do like to experiment..usually with no fixed idea of where i'm going1 Just persist until the image pleases me. and the creative process is fun. Members of RR have been very generous with their comments and help, which is very much appreciated. I have learned so much of seeing other artists' work apart from the real enjoyment of viewing and having contact with other members.  I like to travel which gives added inspiration.... Many many thanks to you all. JeanÂ

The Med? Could that be the Mediterranean Sea? In any event, even if the horizon is atilt, the sailboats standout like beacons in this fine iPad photo, Jean. And, I have no idea how to transfer images from iPad to computer.

The red sails really make the scene. As far as transferring from the iPad to the computer, there is nothing easy about the iPad. I've had no success except for emailing the photo to yourself and opening it on your computer, but the iPad will automatically downsize it and result in the awful resolution that is evident in your photo if you enlarge it. Nothing like having an 8 MPx camera and not being able to get a photo higher that around 250 kB at best. Same with videos, longer than about 20 seconds and the iPad's only option is to cut material from the beginning or end until it is about 20 seconds. Of course there's no manual except for one on-line, and it offers no help that works either, not does any on-line help that I tried. I eventually gave up and bought a Microsoft Surface tablet. Much better, and guess what, it has a USB port for uploading and downloading and you don't need to use Apple software to do anything, nor any dedicated computer disk space. My laptop uses 30 GB of space so I can have 12 GB of photos on my iPad, and I cannot do anything about that space on my laptop which has only a 200 GB hard drive. My iPad will be for sale very soon now, and this once die-hard Apple user will never buy another Apple product. My two iMacs are going too, and two older Apple products. I could say much more about Apple vapourware too, software that never did work because it didn't exist except for grayed-out menu items. Yes, Apple has been very innovative in using ideas from outside of Apple, but they have played some very dirty tricks on their consumers. Today they hit the top being labelled the most valuable company in the world. They will not be there next year. Watch Microsoft.

I like red colour and this scenery is decorated with red yachts. Natural art work.
