Description

Strange after yesterdays post starting with "A" I now go to double Z. I do like the creation of shapes and patterns, this gave me the cascading beck and matching stone wall. The beck is from Hartsop reservoir. The hill at the top right is called the Knot. It is climbed to give access to "High street". An ancient Roman road along the top of the fells ( above 2700ft ). It is just a level grassy area with footpaths through the grass today. The Romans are said to have raced horses up there!!! One for you time travellers to call in on!

Amazingly lovely; I would love to walk there, with camera in hand, of course!

A fabulous place and a fabulous photograph. I often think of the skill of the men who built the dry stone walls and if they ever thought to the future and wondered how long their artistry would last. They did not carve away great chunks to make everything look the same, but followed the lay of the land and gave thought of shelter for the sheep and cattle. Artistry indeed:-).

Excellent shot Kev. I will have to drag out the time machine, not used it since I went back to 1930 and teamed up with Ansel for a quick landscape shoot. I will let you know if I see a legion of praetorian guard racing :) Lovely work my friend.
