I have been into photography for over 40 years, and the pull doesnt lessen. As a family we have always been keen walkers, and that gets you to some interesting places.Ive recently been to Southern India as a member of an adult support team with our local community school to Chennai so the camera never cooled down i can tell you, (watch this space). I live in Chard South Somerset, and have fairly recently converted to digital, at first reluctantly, but now enthusiastically. Its great to hear others comments on your pictures and i am looking forward to loading up my space. Alan. Almost through my first week and inspiration levels have rocketed, thanks for all those comments they drive me on.

Wonderful architecture and a super shot Alan.

No mortar! My god. Just think of how well these blocks must be stacked to still be there! Fascinating information, and a terrific photograph.

It looks so fragile considering the height and no mortar.

Congratulations first on the postings in your gallery which I've just viewed. This capture of this aqueduct is spectacular. Amazing that no mortar was used but perhaps not unusual for Roman builders as I think the wall in the great Roman theatre in Orange was similarly built I haven't checked..just memory!)

Wow! They did a great job of it, and it's still lovely today. If modern builders tried this it would probably fall down immediately!

great shot

Incredible that it still stands and a beautiful view through the first arch. A PERFECT photo fit for a travel magazine!

Always impressive to see that.

Excellent perspective. I like the framing of the tower in the first arch, the massiveness of the wall dominating the shot, and the look way down to the tiny people. Impressive workmanship. I'm sure the inhabitants that watched this go up were both awestruck and intimidated. Beautiful capture. Congrats for being in LWitG!
