Inspired by nothing more than hearing an unidentifiable sound in the dark wee hours as the nights get longer and colder.

Reality really does wonders for the lighting, though I think it would make my comp beg for mercy. Everyone should look at this one enlarged... Then you could better see the cloth draped over the feet and other great details.
