Description
This was taken just a few hundred feet or so from the Coquille Lighthouse in Bandon (yesterday's post). We walked a little on this section of beach & came across several people searching among the rocks scattered on the beach. We asked them what they were doing & they said they were looking for agates. This man was among them. The device on that rocky outcrop is a foghorn, which was going off fairly often (once a minute or so?). It was fairly loud & we were wondering how the houses that were close by could tolerate it & whether it went on all day & night...

Wonderful candid capture with the foghorn, I think it is like having a house near the rail line, at first it is annoying and then the mind tunes it out

Truly lovely, this moment which you have captured and shared.

This is really a fine image. We lived right in the path of the Nashville Airport for five years. The planes flying over rattled the dishes. I never got used to it.

How nice of that cloud to show up in just the right place! :) And I love the colors. Those bright pastels you get are just yummy. Great shot, and great work!

I killed a guy for a piece of agate once.

Most excellent!

I have spent some great time looking for agates long ago, and also had fun working them into jewelry. The fog horn is defective, they are not supposed to sound unless visibility is seriously reduced.

What a beautifully jewel-toned shot; the balance between the man and the lighthouse is perfect. Well done!

I do love the sound of foghorns when it is foggy, although it seems strange in this sparkling light! A wonderful photo!

Thought provoking image. Excellent in all ways.

A beautiful view but it doesn't look foggy enough for the fog horn to be going off that often.
