Description
Jamie promised his Mother he would study hard at school. But he fell in with a bad crowd, and unfortunately
his studies have fallen by the wayside and his grades showed it. His Mother has shown Jamie's grades
to Grandmamma, who is helping pay for Jamie's education. She is scandalized!
'What rubbish!' she thinks, in a rage!
'I don't know what to do with him!' laments Jamie's Mother!
'Send him over to me!' orders Grandmamma. 'I'll give him a piece of my mind and some good advice!'
I think Jamie will be mending his ways forthwith. Sometimes even the threat of punishment is all you need
to persuade someone to think about changing directions from bad to good.
Grandmamma is the master of subtlety and has used her powers of persuasion wisely in helping bring up Jamie.
He has benefited from her wise counsel and promises to mend his ways.
'Study your books hard, Jamie, and I might not have to threaten you with physical force in the future!'
The lesson is learned. Jamie regains his focus and thanks to his family's love and discipline,
graduates with honors a few years later!
