Description

there were 100's of webs floating along with the wind yesterday. I have seen before but never took a picture. I can not even guess what the elevation was. when I was at the mall walking outside yesterday before day break I seen one attached to a tree and managed to miss it I thought. when I stopped for gasoline, I realized I had a web on my my head. I used my 18-270 mm lens fully extended for this photo

Some species of spiders do fly "with" the wind from place to place just to let you know. Great photo Richard. Stan

I've never viewed anything like this. Is it spider webbing?

Some say baby spiders are on those strings and the parent is getting them to populate a new area, I hear they can float for hundreds of miles.

Interesting to have seen these. I can just imagine how curious I would have been not knowing what I was looking at. I had to do a double take at your image and then after reading... it made sense! :) Wonderful capture of these! Love the perfect blue sky as well, Richard!

I walked into one of those damn things yesterday in the parking lot at work - it was hung up on the antenna of the car I walked past.. I know some of my co-workers probably enjoyed watching me do my "I just walked into a #&^$%*$#% spider web" dance. :-P Very cool capture, though!

Great shot! I read that some spiders can go so far up they freeze and travel on the jetstream to other continents!
