Description

I'm currently on location in Haiti filming a documentary on unethical adoption practices in the region. The shanty town in this photo is one the "nicer" areas as conditions here go to the extreme of decay and human desperation. Refugee camps from the recent earth quake have become semi-permanent "towns" literally held together with twine, loose stone and trash. More photographs in the days ahead.

Many thanks! This is the toughest assignment that I've worked so far; was not prepared for the level of decay and desperation that I'm seeing here.

The people were better off under Papa Doc. (I was there.)
