Description

I took this photo at the Klausen pass in Switzerland. We were up in the clouds so it was misty. This is the first photo I have tried improving with Photoshop's auto adjustments. It did bring the cows into sharper focus. Swiss cows are very charming. First you can find them in many places even I would not dare to go. And they all wear bells around their necks which make a lovely concert as they eat the mountain grass and move from place to place. I have to admit after hearing the delightful music of the cowbells while surrounded by the majestic mountains I did succumb to the tourist cow bell purchase. My cowbell now resides as a piece of decor in my living room. It is a lovely reminder of a magical, musical and marvelous vacation in the Alps of Switzerland.

Great capture. You know that Swiss cows have longer legs on one side than the other right? That is so they can stand on the slope better! The bells allows the farmer to find his cows during inclement weather!

Very nice of the cows. Looks steep, and I'm intrigued by the waterfall in the background.

This image evoked a lot of responses in me. First a smile for the very charming cows, and a sense of wonder at their location. I'm used to goats and sheep perching on a hillside, but I hadn't thought of cows doing so. Then my eyes moved back to the beautiful scene behind them! What a gorgeous waterfall and that house is so far down. Your narrative added to the feeling of being there. Beautiful capture!

Looks like those cows have been taking lessons from the local mountain goat.
