I'm afraid we will never see that level of craftsmanship routinely available in the future.

When I was stationed in East Anglia, a friend and I went out exploring churches one day. Some of the plainest on the outside would be rich with wooden carvings inside. There was one that had wonderful carvings on the end of each pew. It was impossible not to fondle them as you walked by. I love the feel of wood carvings and the shine they get after many years of being fondled. Beautiful carving and capture!
