Description
I did this one for my grandson. He loves "Duck Dynasty", and since he's twelve, I don't have to worry about language and nudity for him. Oh, they like sex, but in a natural and mature way. I love the program, too, because of the family values and just plain redneck fun. I even like the beards...LOL
This is my version of "Uncle Si". He's the funniest. I read that when they first started filming, he would freeze in front of the camera, so they hid it. I also read, while looking for pictures of the Duck Commanders, that Jase was escorted out of a swank New York hotel by a bellhop because he was mistaken for a homeless person. Two things this program has taught me....first, it's okay to say "redneck", and the other is "Never judge a book by its (hairy) cover."
I used the l984 hair for the beard, then a few strands of the Mane pack for fill in and to soften it a bit. I did an overlay on the glasses to reflect the swamp background. Postwork is what I really love to do, but my graphics pad hasn't worked since I upgraded my computer....so that's limited. I did this the old-fashioned way...with a mouse.

oh, this is such a nice change of pace...love his face and that beard is amazing...never watched the show since i was working in the evening and got home around 1AM...didn't one of them die recently or am i thinking of another show? and, yes, never judge a book by its cover...unfortunately we live in culture where outward appearances hold such high importance...we tend to be very shallow as a culture... drawing with a mouse is like drawing with a brick...i have a nice little wacom sitting on my desk collecting dust--simply never been motivated enough to set it up--that would be a nice little project :)

Don't watch the program but it's a great chracter and beautiful afterwork. It is amazing how people judge you without knowing you. Being an old long haired bearded tattooed freak myself, I too have tolerated peoples' ignorance.

This is an excellent portrait - - I knew who it was before I read the caption. And I've only watched Duck Dynasty a few times. Si is my favorite character though.
