Ok, that's it---I'm just gonna have to come down there and buy all your paintings. I love this! Another musical painting---you understand musicians so well! Like that accordion painting (a little later in your gallery), you zeroed in on a closeup---just a part of the head, a part of the hand, and the big glowing violin which---at this close range---feels like a big shiny pan. You've got the 'feel' of a violin---you always do in your paintings---and its strange curves and its strange 'presence', close up. And you got the bow too, which is like a bolt of lightning here. ANd look what you did with the background: You turned it into a sea of pulsing greens, flowing and undulating with the music. Whoosh! And a big pink stroke down the man's neck: This is really fine, Jock. Musicians owe you a big bow of gratitude! (The amazing thing about the violin is that it's so hard to hold, and it takes a while to get a decent sound out of it---beginners make a violin sound like a stabbed cat. So when a musician finally learns to make a violin "sing"---it's a miracle. That strange instrument, which can sound so bad in the wrong hands, suddenly creates heaven on earth. In your paintings, they've already reached that stage...)
