Description

From Samuel R. Delany's 1968 sci-fi novel "Nova" The Roc with projection vanes extended. Spacecraft in this story were not rocket propelled. They employed what Delany called projection vanes. Each vane is controlled by a member of crew. Every one in this society has plugs grafted into their wrists and the base of the spine. They connect directly into computers through their radial nerves and spinal cords. They control machinery and ships through their plugs. I had to come up with something that wouldn't have the standard rocket blast. But I figured something had to flare on the thing or people wouldn't think of it as a ship. Scene created using Hexagon 2.5, rendered in Daz Studio. Some objects painted in Hexagon, transparencies and some textures created in Photoshop.
