Description
Last image in this scene/chapter.
Some quick exposition that may only matter to total SF/astro nerds like myself: The terrain is my imagining of the surface of Hi'iaka a "moon" gravitationally bound to the dwarf planet Haumea. Haumea orbits the Sun between 5 and 8 trillion miles from Earth. The main character is Hsiu Mei, an exploration geologist on the frontiers of the Kuiper Belt. More about her in the flashback scenes to come.

I'm going to do some doodles for the rest of the week then I'm off to Hawaii for a well deserved holiday. I'll start work on the flashback scenes when I return.

The thumbnail gamma was jacked up a bit so it was more than a black rectangle. The suit is HAAS for V4 by XUrge3D. The hammer and terrain are original. The oxygen tank is a modified sci-fi container from DAZ. The Artifact is Olympus Mons Hangar from Redhouse Studios available in the DAZ shop. I added the layers of grime and created bump maps in GIMP.

No three-headed creature gonna jump out and tear her to pieces???...hehehe. That's what I would have done...but then again...I'm sick in the head. Seriously...this is excellent. The lighting you put on the artifact is awesome. Great work!!!

It's very interesting what can be found in our solar system, both in your story and in real life. According to Wikipedia, the discoverers nicknamed Hi'iaka "Rudolph" (as in reindeer :D). I guess whoever inhabited that base is long gone...maybe. However, there's the concern about Hsui's air supply. Hope you have a safe fun trip in Hawaii. :)
