Description


This is the much larger mantis which is on (I believe) a Bradford Pear tree so, the branch/size comparison is there, its not enormous, but its still not something I'd like to have fly at me.

Nice focus on the head. Not a really large one as far as one can see, and as you say. Many more than usual around this summer, it seems. When I was a small boy a very savvy aunt kept a really large one collared by the neck, and anchored by a very fine silver chain, on the top of a bureau in her bedroom. Kept the whole area free of flying insects. For the very patient it was also an entertainment.

Great stuff again amigo! But it hardly fits on me 20 inch monitor what gear did you use to shoot this? A digital camera? I have found that they take the best sharp macro shots?
