Description
The same hydrant viewed from two separate POVs, captured 9/28/13, very early morning, about .75 miles from home.
With the shadows growing longer each passing day, along with the approach of my beloved Halloween, this is one of my favorite times of the year.
Note the difference in clarity, contrast and length of the shadow between the two fotos. All I did was change my vantage point and not my settings.
ZOOM if at all possible.

Great shadow, looks much like a rocket ready to launch. Well worth the early morning walks. The shadows are terrific . Nice work !

Great photos, I always loved looking at the images shadows can create.

First, you wrote "very early morning, about .75 miles from home". When I first read that, I read "75 miles from home"---ie, no decimal point. I thought, s__t, this guy walks FAR first thing in the morning! A mis-read... This is another crystalline piece in your shadows series. I don't know why the two shadows are different, but they're an amazing contrast. The light---mm! What you do with early light...I just love it. It's intense and so yellow, and yet bleached white too. In the first, it makes the blue shadow stand out. And in the second, you have the hint of very bright sun just out of the frame (right side) with this bleached, intense presence. And your angles/ tilts are very dramatic, and they go opposite directions (good for montage). For 2 'minimal' shots, these are very rich; and the last one feels like high noon at the apocalypse-around-the-corner. Fine work all around. Harry, I'm going to sleep now. I'll be back for more while I'm commenting, but glad I got a head start in your gallery, always a pleasure. And btw, the background in my last post does appear artificial; I worked with that, but any more work would've made the 512 kb limit impossible. But that's the actual city back there, looking artificial from the fade and coloring. Thanks for the comment, and all the others. Your comments on RR are models in appreciation and fine-tuned writing. I appreciate them all.)
