This is a bit of an update. From humble beginnings my photography is steadily improving.I started out with a Kodak point and shoot camera and progressed to a Sony A-200 Digital SLR camera.Other equipment that i currently have is the following: Tamron 70-300mm lens. What a little beauty! I'd love to see an owl, but the only ones I have ever spotted have been in zoos. I know they must be all around here in the Northwest, but they must be really, really good at hiding! Not sure of the ID, but I'd guess a pearl spotted owlet; scroll down here. Does that look like what you saw?

Beautiful owl. These are my favourite creatures and I think this one is so wonderful as its eye colour is in total contrast to the colour of its feathers. Superb capture.
