Volume II - Episode 41 Where: Melbourne, Australia When: 1 month and 2 days after E-Day, 10:19 am Two men stood in the bowels of Apex Tower, finishing up their upgrade to one of the boilers. The smaller man was thin and wiry, with greasy black hair that clung to his forehead like glue. The other man was enormous, utterly gigantic, a monstrous result of genetics, bodybuilding and over-indulgence in the highly-illegal spell-laced steroid known as Freak. The smaller man, Patrick Flannigan, was struggling to close the access panel on the side of the boiler. The extreme heat generated by the burned-out coil they'd just replaced had warped the metal. "I dunno, Bear," he said, shaking his head . "He's not gonna like it." Angus Flannigan, whose nickname had been The Bear for almost as long as he could remember, nudged his brother aside and twisted the access panel back into shape. "Doesn't matter if he likes it or not. Mum wants him to go, so he's going." His voice was a booming rumble. "Well, you can tell him yaself," Patrick said, looking up as a young, skinny man with a sly face and short blond hair stepped into the room. "He's right there." Behind them, the boiler roared back into life.
