Description
Between Seasons
Summer is almost gone from the city,
Soft winds sweep clean the stifling dust.
You can smell sweet and spicy aromas,
Blowing high with yet another gust.
The heavy burdens of long restless nights,
Make way for fresh struggles of the mind.
Walking the long streets, searching for relief,
Your shabby shadow is right behind.
Some people lose their natural balance,
When cold winds replace the scorching heat.
Thinking bears are clever to hibernate,
You stay in your bed under the sheets.
During the long and chilly winter nights,
When rains are down pouring all around.
You think of the one you loved more than life,
He died in autumn, without a sound.
That is why I can't stand change of seasons,
Roaming the streets, hot, but cold inside.
I pray that the next in-between period,
Would bring back my loved one that has died.

The illustration is beautiful, and the prose is exceptional. I can feel the loneliness and longing, the loss and pain, in the words. I had to read it several times to absorb it all. Amazing work!!! Very well done.
