Description

Here you see The Comma (Polygonia c-album). And The European Peacock (Inachis io). It's hard to believe that I took this picture just three days ago, because if you look outside, it looks like a mess of leaves and branches. I hope none of you in England has been affected by the storm. Here in the Netherlands the traffic was very disturbed. In our province it was less severe than elsewhere in the country. But, okay the summer is over, but I enjoyed my flying beautiful, colored friends. I'm already homesick for them. It was such a great joy for me to see them fly, so cheerful and carefree, so playful and boisterous frolic. And I played along with them, like I'm still that little child of the past. Always outside in the fields, in nature, so much joy, so much fun. You read it friends, I still enjoy after, ànd......: I still have the pictures of my beautiful memories!!! Thank you very much for your visit, wishing you a carefree day further. We here need to think ('yes, we can';-)), because our car, which is from 1994 needs an expensive repair, so maybe we have to buy another. "I go with the cap around". (Dutch: Ik ga met de pet rond.) Haha, do you know what that means?: I'm walking down the street or standing somewhere with a hat or a cap, and hope someone throws money into this. "Wish me luck"! :^)

Pure delight! As for the car, mine is 1993, and still works ok. It cost me £350 nine years ago... So glad you are safe, Mies. So are we, we were lucky here. Helle is getting it now, I think.

OH How lovely they are, and so late of the year. You are right. Thinking about how the weather was today, it is hard to believe, that you took it three days ago, but i do believe you :-))) It seems our birdfeeding tree had a really hard day today. I could see how the wind was pushing it so the ground bulged upward. The tree is tilting to the east and the birdfeeding house were PUSHED out of the ground by the roots of the tree.. I am afraid we wont have the tree much longer. But now at 8.40 PM, the Hurricane is about to be weaker. Thank you for that. We dont know what we will se tomorrow when the light is back. It was really tough and I was pretty nervous. Mostly for the HUGE shaking aspen. It is not liveless, but leafless noe :-)

This is the butterfly shot of the year Jacomina, it is perfection. Sorry to hear about the car, when I see you with the cap I will throw in a few notes!! The weather was kind enough not to disturb us too much.

I do not know ... if begging is allowed in Holland, with a cap or a fedora, in any case, these two beautiful butterflies still involved late in the extension of a beautiful nature! Beautiful photography!

Oh yes, "cap in hand" or "passing the hat" is common here for asking for favors or begging or taking up a collection. :) Good luck with your car! This is a gorgeous photograph. I'm sorry to hear the wind has changed everything so quickly. We're in the middle of a wind storm right now, although here in the desert of Southern California, it's all dust and warm winds. When it's over, you probably won't notice any difference at all. (What a very odd place this is!)

'Passing the hat around' - for donations, has the same meaning here in Oz ... let me see, if I can sell the house ? ;P Don't worry, we are driving an old Subaru Impreza Hatchback (1998), Jeff swears to it - they are the best cars, any year, any model !!! *** This must be a 'lucky strike', two Butterfly's for the price of one ;)) absolutely gorgeous !!! I have seen some of the bad weather over England and The Netherlands on the TV news, hang in there Jacominchen we are having lots of strong winds too ! BB
