Description

I really appreciate all the great advice on getting my computer back up and running. Being a veteran of countless crashes on this machine, I learned to back up my pictures. I was using an external drive, but a while ago I installed an extra internal drive. I download all my photos straight from my camera cards to that drive, so I knew they were safe. It turns out the only problem was the power supply. I replaced the 300W supply that was in the machine with a 400W supply. I've had this computer about eight years. I've made many upgrades to the hardware and I didn't realize how much strain the supply was under. The new one is running the computer faster than ever. This is an old machine though, so I am installing a new one, much bigger and faster. I'll try to post when I can, but getting all my work and programs installed one the new on will keep me busy for a few days.

Good stuff and it is the right time to upgrade. I recently upgraded my Pavilion with an HP Phoenix all decked out. The improved performance speed is breathtaking and almost unlimited storage with four drives, the OS with 100 GB, the Recovery, these are both chip memory, then there are two drives 2 TB and 3 TB, plus a CD/DVD/BR reader/burner and a CD/DVD reader/burner. Not fussy about Windows 7 though
