Description

Green Anoles are very common in south Florida and are known in the old world (Europe) as chameleons. She is hanging on a tree between the patios on the lake side of our condo building. She is about 8 inches (20.3 cm) long and at this size will lay a single egg every 10 to 14 days from April through November. She will bury that egg in soft soil. I am reasonably sure that this is a green olive tree. I do believe that I read that the dark circles around the eyes are caused by the stress of the aggressive defense of their territory. This will zoom for details. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Isn't great great to live amongst those beautiful creatures and have them as neighbours, so to speak ... and I hope, he wasn't too stressed - you taking a shot of him, after all he/she is famous now and immortalised here forever! ;) fine result, Dana BB

She is beatiful! I love her pose of alert. It is possible that the circles of her eyes are due to sleeping little and drink too much coffee. At least mine are due to that LOL

Two excellent photos of this little lizard. Fantastic details in full size. Around here you see from time to time small lizards and salamanders also, but not as big as this one.
