oh that is so cool...is that a slug eating mushroom...I fed my venus fly tray a slug...it seems to like it...lol excellent photo... chills and thrills

Mabey the battle is the parasite that lives in the fungus and attacks the slug taking over the slugs brain functions. The slug then flips it's bright underside, whether it wants to or not, up to the sky, making it an easier target for a predator, like a bird, the end game target for the parasite...

So unusual to me to see these two together! I have little experience with slugs, but my father, when he was alive and living in Victoria had a vertual war going on with them and he kept a tally of the numbers he slew in battle.
